| Opening Day is Here |
| By Sally Haase March 30, 2011 After a way too long winter, the snow is finally melting, the birds are singing and 2011 baseball season is about to start. It is an exciting time for baseball fans, seeing your favorite team take the field, watching the first strikeout, watching the first home run, and watching all the new talent and the emergence of a veteran player who starts the season with a “where did THAT come from” hot streak. And there are always one or two surprising teams who come out of the gate strong and take the division lead. Every team is 0-0, and all have the same goal walking into the club house on Opening Day- get to the World Series; and they have 162 games to reach that goal. Over the next few weeks those players and teams will make themselves known, but the big question is if those players and teams can ride the wave for the full nine months season. Only time will tell. |
