Argos Sweep Alabama Huntsville

Pensacola, FL- The UWF Argos swept Alabama-Huntsville on the first day
of the series. The Argos were able to down the Charger 4-3 in game one of
the series on Saturday afternoon. In the bottom of the first the Argos scored
2 runs making the score 2-0. The Chargers were able to come back in third
and cut the lead in half, due to two defensive errors by the Argos. The Argos
added a another run in the eighth making the score 3-1 going into the ninth
inning. The Chargers were able to tie the game up in the top of ninth.
However the Argos were able to score one run in the bottom of the ninth
winning the game 4-3.
The Argos were off to a fast start in game two of the series posting 10 runs
with 15 hits in what turned out to be a 7 inning game. The Argos were able
to put on run on the board in the first, and didn’t stop there. In the fourth the
Argos scored a total of four runs on four hits including two RBI by catcher
Tyler Hastings. In the fifth inning the Argos were able to add on five more
runs, making the score 10-0. The Chargers were finally able to get on the
board in the sixth when Ryan McCrory was able to hit a home run out of the
park. The final score was 10-1.
Game three of the series was played on Sunday. Argos pitcher Kevin
Johnson helped the Argos to complete the series sweep with a score of 9-
0. Johnson pitched a no hitter, Johnson walked the first two batters Johnson
retired the next 10 batters. The Argos got off to an early 3-0 lead. In the fifth
Tyler Hastings came to bat with the bases loaded and was able to hit a
double that scored three runs giving the Argos a 6 run lead over the
Chargers. The Argos would go on to score once more in the sixth and two
more in the seventh making the final 9-0.
