Chicago Cubs rookie Tyler Colvin is in stable condition in a Miami hospital after a
scary moment on the field Sunday afternoon.

Colvin was on third base when Welington Castillo came to bat in the second inning.
Castillo’s back shattered and a sliver pierced Colvin’s chest. Colvin was able to
score on the play, he was replaced in bottom on the 2nd.

Colvin was pierced in the upper right chest. He was taken to Miami hospital  where
he is in stable condition. He will remain in the hospital for a few days for observation.
He  is being treated with a chest tube to prevent a collapsed lung.

Colvin is expected to miss the rest of the season.
