Shell Out at Pitt., Transfers after 1 year
By Fred Perdue
April 3, 2013

Running back Rushel Shell finally made a decision regarding a possible transfer after a few
days of contemplation. The decision wasn't in Pitt's favor.

Pitt running back Rushel Shell told coach Paul Chryst he will transfer from the university, ending
his stay with the team after one season

The young man may go west. Shell's top transfers options can be found within the Pac-12.

UCLA is one likely option, as is Arizona State, where Todd Graham is the head coach."

Rushel Shell was seen as the future of Pitt's run-first offense. Pitt was prepared to hand the
reins to Shell after Ray Graham graduated.

Junior-to-be Isaac Bennett probably would likely be thrust to the top of the depth chart if Shell left
the program. Redshirt sophomore Malcolm Crockett would serve the team's No. 2 back.
