| Ramos Rescued |
| By Sally Haase November 12, 2011 The people of Valencia, Venezuela erupted with cheers when they heard that hometown baseball star Wilson Ramos was found alive and well after being held by kidnappers for 50 hours. The 24 year old catcher for the Washington Nationals was rescued from the mountains of Montalban in central Venezuela. Three people have been taken into custody in connection with the abduction. Even though Ramos was likely abducted for ransom, the family never heard word from the group as to what they wanted. The information from Venezuela was scares at best, so it really makes me wonder if the authorities knew more than they ever let on. But, of course you do not want to blab all that information to the press, because one wrong report and Ramos could have been dead. And after 50 hours of being held captive, the chances were getting smaller that Ramos would still be alive. It was an excellent effort put forth by the Venezuelan authorities who were able to locate Ramos and get him back home to his family alive. Hopefully Ramos can now put this crazy mess behind him and have a long and successful career. |
