| Now It’s On |
| By Vinny Hardy hardyboysportsblog.com October 23, 2011 Now the hype, overhype, anticipation, build up, expectation, or any other word you want to use can begin. Officially. Did I mention hype? Alabama and LSU have successfully navigated through their first 8 obstacles of this college football season and are finally able to focus solely on their showdown of epic proportions. No more one game at at time or we’re completely focused on Kent State talk. It’s all about LSU and Alabama mano a mano. They have taken different paths to get to 8-0 today. LSU has had drama all season long. They haven’t let it phase them. They beat Auburn 45-10 without The Honey Badger, Spencer Ware, and Tharold Simon. Eight games played, eight double digit wins. The Crimson Tide have been rolling along as well. They slept walked through the first half against a game Tennessee team and still cruised to a 37-6 victory. Both teams have great defenses that feel they are the best in the country. Both teams have legitimate reasons for feeling that way. Both teams have power running, efficient passing offenses. Both teams have a bye week to get ready for one another. Saban and Miles are both outstanding after bye weeks. The game is in Tuscaloosa, so maybe the slightest of edges has to go to Alabama. Start the countdown now for the game of the year. Something has to give, can’t wait to see what it will be. |
