
| By Melinda Dove March 23, 2010 Pensacola, FL- University of West Florida head coach Mike Jeffcoat earned his 150th win as the Argos head coach with a double header sweep against the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys on day one of the series. The first game’s pitcher, Josh Reed, allowed only one run earned in eight innings. In game one the Argos scored one run in the first two innings, scoring two more in the third, the Argos scored another run in the eighth inning giving them a 5-0 lead over the Wonder Boys. Arkansas Tech tried to rally a comeback in the ninth scoring one run, but failing to do much else. The game ended as Arkansas Tech’s Colt Loehrs hit a ball to second Baseman Kyle Brown, was able to get it to short stop Brandon Brewer the threw it to first making the triple play the last play of the ball game. In game two the Argos started off strong again scoring three runs in the first innings and coming back in the third to score one, and then two in the fourth. The Wonder Boys got on the board in the fifth with one run. In the seventh inning Colt Loehrs was able to Cut the Argos lead making it a 6-3 ballgame when he hit a two run homerun. The Argos were able to hang on to win the game 6-4. |
